Corrosion Issue on Pure Copper Lead frame

+++

I am investigating "pure copper lead frame" as potential substitute for preplated copper lead frame in transistors. Does this not pose a risk of corrosion considering Aluminum wire will be bonded to it?

Hi, Aniceto. Galvanic corrosion is a phenomenon that occurs on exposed surfaces. As such, if the environment was sufficiently benign that there was no objectionable galvanic corrosion with copper plated pins, I think there will be none with solid copper pins. Good luck.
