Anodized aluminum window frames are acid stained

+++

We cleaned a brick veneer on a building and despite our best efforts to protect the anodized alum. window frames, our cleaners (hydrofluoric based) bled behind our protection and have discolored the brown anodized alum.with purple to brown streaks.
No pitting is visible. We applied liquid silicone to the alum which seemed to fix (or maybe cover up) the staining.

I would like to know of any other solutions short of removing the window frames and replacing. (we have used this cleaner and process many times over our 15 year history and have not encountered this problem before.)

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.

Thanking you in advance!

I am an anodizer myself and I found your question more informative than inquisitive. You've just found a solution to a problem some of us couldn't.
