Brush Chrome

Hi,

I am Jan and want to find out any method for brush chrome. In our plant we already use chrome valour.(Satin finish) What I did is used Scotch scourer to scratch the chrome to give a sort of satin finish. Could you please help me with a easier method?

Some advice from an ex "Kapenaar". We used to double chrome, i.e plate in your chrome the normal time, then lift out the work,(or break contact) for 10-15 seconds. You might find it easier to scratch with Scotchbrite that way. Or if you can get the Scotchbrite wheels then do the sateening on the wheel. Canning used to supply a Sateen compound which you apply to an ordinary polishing mop. But as you know "Boer maak 'n plan" , so there is an alternative if a frosted finish would be acceptable. You can do this by sandblasting the surface before nickle plate with the finest grit. Or even finer finish can be obtained if you use glass beads in a system called Vacublast. Last alternative is to use a satin nickle tank , but I've never known these to give consistent results. Feels geluk en hou die blinkkant bo!
