+++

I am retired and as a hobby I have cast some pewter chess pieces I would like find a simple and inexpensive method of putting a copper finish on some of the pieces.

Try this German recipe: Mix some potassium tartarate and copper sulphate solution, then rub it on objects (with piece of cloth, or leather or cork). Lacquer it!
