Nickel and chrome plating fail to pass 96 hrs acid salt spray test

+++

I am having a problem with obtaining a nickel plating thickness of 10 microns and chrome plating thickness of 2.5 microns on a spout of brass faucet. Could the problem be relating to the pre-plating cleaning or something else? If you can answer this question I would be most appreciative.

Thanks,

I think we need more details, such as surface area, time, bath temperature, current applied, current density, bath composition and state, cleaning procedure, symptoms of the problems, state of the anodes, voltage drops etc, then someone may have an answer to your problem. Unfortunately the Internet doesn't yet support thought transfer!
