Float valves for rinse tanks
--
Could you please tell me if float valves are used in rinse tanks. I manufacture a float valve and am trying to identify new markets for this product. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time, Rocky

No, float valves are very rarely used in rinse tanks because rinse tanks usually involve constant overflow of rinsewater, rather than additions based on solution level. But they are often used in hot process tanks such as alkaline cleaners, and in batch-type wastewater treatment systems.

I'll have to disagree with Ted and encourage Rocky.
Float valves can and, indeed, are used in rinse tanks, both flowing and not, very successfully. We are operating two cleaning lines, twenty some tanks total, all equipped with stainless/polypropylene float valves.
In over three years of operation we have not had a single valve failure. Besides, we saved a bundle when building the lines compared to electronic level controllers.
In my opinion, the use use of float valves needs to be popularized much more in the plating industry.
Good luck from PlaterB
