Furural What is it ?

--

I have been asked to locate 200 tons of the above chemical to go to Dubai. Can you supply such a substance... I've never heard of it.. I think it is used in metal finishing.

Kind regards

Dear Ray ,

I think the product you are looking for is FURFURAL and it is probably known better by its complicated chemical name , which you will get from a Chemical Dictionary , it main uses are as a component of a "Tin" plating brightener system & as a corrosion inhibitor but 200 Tons would probably be the worlds combined output for a year .

For furural, try looking up furfural or 2-furaldehyde.

There are a number of websites that have more information, including one from OSHA with workplace detection methods and health hazards.

It is a solvent with multiple uses.
