Letter 2021 -- I'M LOOKING FOR A WAY TO REMOVE THE METAL THAT ENDS UP IN ELECTROPOLISHING SOLUTION AFTER ELECTROPOLISHING. THE HIGH METAL CONCENTRATION IS DETRIMENTAL TO THE PROCESS AND THE ONLY WAY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM IS TO DECANT AND REPLACE WITH NEW SOLUTION. SURELY THERE IS A METHOD TO REMOVE THIS METAL. ANY INFO WOULD BE APPRECIATED. ALLAN JOCHUM
Dear Allan , The metals build up and form a sludge , which many places I have visited remove with a Filter press , some big installations have the solution filtered by the press constantly . regards
We have for about three years used a commercial product from a company in Munich, Germany. It has the advantage among others that it can hold more metal in solution than a conventional mixture of, say, sulfuric and phosphoric acid. The content has off course an upper limit. When that limit is reached the sludge has to be removed manually. Earlier we did that every 3 weeks. Today we can work for 5-7 weeks before the sludge has to be removed. Hans Henrik Larsen
