Cleaning the soot from carbonitrided gears [India]

We are facing problem of cleaning of small gears which are carbonitrided in Sealed Quench Furnaces. The gears are heavily sooted.....which are not clened by any means...we have to tumble them ..... pl. suggest any another method.
