Need A Lab Instrument for Plating Identifications [Greece]

Our Labs are quite often requested for the qualitative identification of metallic platings on aircraft/engine parts. These platings may be Chrome, Nickel, Silver, Cadmium, Gold platings mostly. We need a laboratory instrumentation to quickly identify the sort of plating existing on metallic parts. Up until today we are using simple spot tests with chemical solutions we prepare in our labs, but this is not always working.
