Info about hard chroming?

+++

Hi everyone or anyone I need a big favor. I am a Tool & Die student a Vincennes University, and I have a paper due in a few weeks, I choose plating and chroming. I do acknowledge the fact that hard chroming is used more in molds but it is interesting to me. I am having a heck of a time finding any web sites on chroming and the process to go along with chroming. If anyone has found any sites of has the time to shear any information about plating I would be very obliged. Thanks for any help.

Thanks again,

Hard chrome plating, sometimes called hard chromium plating, is chrome plating of sufficient thickness that the hardness can be measured. It may run from a few ten thousandths of an inch thick on hardened steel, to much greater thickness when deposited on softer substrates like steel shafting or copper. There are hundreds of Q&A's on that subject right here, Tony; please see the search page. Admittedly, this site is no substitute for a good book, such as those listed on our books page. But start with FAQ / Chrome Plating Tutorial. Good luck!

If two or three search engines find nothing, Go to your University Library. If they have nothing, they surely have an inter library agreement with someone that can provide the book (s) you need. True it is more work than direct plagiarism.
