Refinish brass door handle [Kentucky]

+++

One old brass entry door handle needs refinished with bright brass and lacquered. I want to keep the door and the newer brass handle holes don't line up. Please contact me if you will do single jobs like this.

There is no particular difficulty in this, Robert -- but you need to consider something. When a door handle is built, it is one of hundreds that are simultaneously processed on automatic machinery. When you want a single one polished, buffed, cleaned, activated, plated, and lacquered, it will certainly take the plating shop employee an hour--probably a little more. Think what a plumber or mechanic charges for an hour or two of their time. So please don't think the shop is "robbing" you when it costs as much for replating and old one as you would pay for a new one (maybe more).

Please don't ask people to take the time to quote if you'd find such a price unacceptable. Good luck!
