Tin plating baths / additives / brighteners

+++

I'm a graduate student working in a materials science research laboratory. I'm working on a project involving tin electroplating and I'm experiencing problems such as gas evolution and poor throwing power. I'm interested in trying a commercial tin plating bath or commercial additives (brighteners). I'm primarily interested in bright tin plating baths.

Since we are only a research lab, I don't need large quantities. I know that many companies provide free samples of their industrial products (e.g. Dow Chem.) to research labs (given the exposure from publications, etc.), but we are of course willing to pay for small quantities as well. Can anyone help or suggest companies to contact?

Thanks very much,

Nathan Mitchell
