Linseed oil coating over powder coat

+++

I have just recently had an exterior ornamental iron railing powder coated and installed. The finish color is great but it is a very flat finish. I was considering putting a coat of Linseed Oil [linked by editor to product info at Rockler] on it to give it some sheen and bring out the color, will that work, it looks great in a test area. I don't want to use anything that becomes a maintenance issue since we have extreme weather, got any suggestions.
