Metallization of ceramics

++

I need to metallise the ends of a ceramic cylinder (about 24 mm dia x 10 mm height) made of Barium Titanate compound. Can the same process used for metallizing Alumina substrates, ie copper/gold be used? It is important that the metallization does not use layers of magnetic materials like Nickel. Also how does one mask the sides of the cylinder if vacuum deposition technique is used?

Copper/Gold Process is a easy & popular method for general application. Assuming you need good strong direct metal bond, I suggest you to go for PVD or DC sputtering metalising. Find a commercial metalizer in your area & deposit any metal of your choice.
