Galvanized sheet metal counter tops stained by vinegar [California]

I recently installed some galvanized sheet metal counter tops. Unfortunatley, my wife spilled some vinegar on them which reacted with the coating and gave it a cloudy, milky haze. What can I do to restore the original finish and shiny luster? Thanks,
