Piston & Cylinder Coatings to Eliminate Oil and Increase Life (Hawaii)

++

1. Can diamond-like-carbon (dlc) coated contact surfaces between piston and cylinder wall eliminate the need for oil?

2. Can the dlc dissipate heat nearly as efficiently as true diamond?

Eliminating oil would be a major improvement for a reciprocating engine of my design that I am building. It replaces the crankshaft with a straight shaft that carries pairs of 1-way clutches. A piston connects to each 1-way clutch. Torque is tansmitted between each power piston and the shaft through its 1-way clutch. The 1-way clutch transmits the torque between its races perpendicular to its radial to provide the required ruggedness and high efficiency.
