Barrel burnishing for paint removal? (Arizona)

I have a friend who is interested in removing paint from metal arms on old theatre chairs, several hundred of them. She was proposing sandblasting each one by hand. I was wondering if anyone new if barrel burnishing could handle paint stripping in large items more efficiently than sand blasting might? Thanks
