Trying to polish aged nickel

++

I had a customer with a detailing question I could not answer, I thought maybe you could help. He has a 57 Chevy Bel Air that he claims was one of only a few thousand produced that had a polished Nickel instrument cluster, he said it used to be a highly polished finish that he could see a reflection, currently it is dull and grey is there a product available that would bring back that finish or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Thanks,

Looking around the web, I see only painted ones. However, I believe they are metal rather than plastic, so they could be plated relatively easily, and they may have been. If the plating has lost its shine, and things like chrome polish can't restore it, it would need to be replated.
