Repairing and restoring wood grain like plastic panels on a radio

++

Hello,

I just bought a radio made around 1970 and it has what I believe to be some sort of wood grain on a plastic base. Some spots especially around the speaker grill have been worn to where the plastic underneath is visible. Short of trying to find the identical material that came with the radio, is there any way of repairing that so it is not so noticeable?

Thank you,
