Black Nickel

++

I am looking for insight on how to create an objective spec for our specialty finishes, such as black nickel with a brush pattern. For several of our finishes, we are able to take L.a.b. readings to create the spec, but in cases such as the black nickel, the highlights and brush strokes give a wide range of readings. Are there any other methods to measure these types of finishes?

Thank you,
