Plating on wood

++

Hello,

I'm a M.S student of metallurgy in Sharif University of Technology and my thesis is about metal coating on wood. I have confused between two methods: 1-sealing , polyester coating, mixtured with activation agent, electroless plating . 2-sealing, polyester coating, etching, activation, electroless plating .

Which is the best?

Thank you ...

If you are taking an MS, I would suggest you should try both methods and find out which is best. Nothing beats practical experience.

DEAR Mr Fallah,

I have done what you asked for many times before my advice is not mixed the activator with polyester because polyester will act as shield preventing activator nuclei to reach the electroless sol.

2- THE FINAL LAYER OF POLYESTER IT IS BETTER TO MIX WITH ANY CARBONATE[SAY CaCO3] THAT WILL HELP IN DIVINING ETCHED SURFACE WHEN YOU PUT IT IN ANY ACID SOL. SAME PROCEDURE FOR [ABS ]WILL GOING WILL[INSHA ALLAH].
