Iridium Copper Alloy
I need properties of Iridium Copper metal and how to make the alloy. Cost of Iridium and percentage of it in alloy.
[name removed at writer's request Aug. 04]- Hyderabad
Hello Mr. [name removed at writer's request Aug. 04] !
There is no alloy of iridium and copper that is recognized by any of the standards writing bodies, such as ASTM or DIN or the British Standards Institute, etc, etc. The reason for this is that it would be a very expensive material that serves no niche: I'd use copper-tungsten, a standard P/M material used for EDM electrodes, for any purpose for which iridium copper would be considered.
Caveat Emptor: from previous postings here I suspect you're being set up for a scam.
Good luck!

You say that you want to know how to make this alloy, while you also say you don't know its properties! Why would someone want to make something that they don't even know the properties of? Maybe you can tell us what you are trying to accomplish?
There is so much nonsense going on about "iridium copper" and the "rice pulling coin" scam (see letters 12341, 15041, 11030, 13872 and search the site for more) that to try to answer your question might be a large disservice because it might lead you to believe that such magical properties actually exist. Good luck.

Copper may boil away like water before iridium mixes in this alloy.

If you have read some of the letters on this subject and still insist on asking, I don't know what we can do for you, Nagesh, because you seem dead set on being swindled :-)
Sorry, and good luck to your family.
