Solder nickel plated Kovar

I have a electrolytic nickel-plated Kovar part and it has a through hole also nickel plated which I want to solder it to assure that it will not leak. Can I solder it successfully since Nickel is not the best candidate for soldering. Should I use some corrosive flux to break the oxide? Please advise.

Thanks a lot.

Use an activated flux containing zinc chloride. Heat indirectly and gently so as not to burn it.
