Titanium etching

I have been asked to etch some titanium for adhesive bonding (I think). I have found a few methods: HF, hot H2O2, H3PO4 etc; It would appear that HF is the best. However, I am very pleased to have practically eliminated the use of HF in my factory and would rather not introduce it again! I would be very interested if anyone can suggest a decent alternative to HF.

Thanks in advance,

Try ammonium bifluoride and sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid. You will form HF in solution.

Try next formulation: HCl-60g/l NaF-30g/l NaCl-20g/l
