2 pac polyurethane versus other coatings

I find the most hardy finish is 2 pac polyurethane for vanity and kitchen cupboards on mdf or white laminated mdf.

Can you please outline to me the advantages and disadvantages of using 2pac polyurethane over lacquers and acid cat lacquers and other clear and colour finishes?
