Surface treatment for magnesium

A housing consists of several die-cast magnesium parts. The parts are yellow chromated acc. to DIN50939. The housing comply with EMC requirements. At high humidity and temperature the corrosion protection of the surface treatment is not sufficient anymore. This causes EMC problems. What is a better surface treatment?

Have you considered anodizing? This process can be done on magnesium, not just aluminum, and may give you better results.

Another possibility often employed today is electroless nickel plating of the magnesium.
