Anodized coloring titanium

Would very much appreciate any help/guidance in anodizing titanium on a small scale in various colors, (this is for identification purposes). The colour needs to be light fast and not change with handling. How do you control the colour produced. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hello Alan!

Since I'm lazy, I'd refer you to a previous posting I made at letter 8981, or one of the many other letters you'll find posted if you do a search on "titanium anodizing".

Good luck!

Vary the voltage. You will get different colours.

If you have proper rectifier with voltage regulation of 0.3 volt, and the heater that holds steady temperature of the electrolyte, we can give you a technique, that allows to obtain predictable and repeatable colors in safe electrolyte.
