D.I. Water and Anodized Aluminim Compatibility 

Will simple anodized aluminum be compatible for use with deionized water? If not, what would protect the best?

If aluminum is the material of your choice, "anodized aluminum" is the best for use in DI water. Chlorine in water is not good for anodic oxide film.

You also need to seal the same to become totally resistant to the water as well.
