Thermal-hardened chromium
plating
---
We have a new bath for thermal-hardened chromium plating. The
process allow us to have a bright coating of necessary thickness on a
part of complicated form. A hardness of coating before heat treatment
is equal 1100 Hv and after - 1500 Hv (400 degrees of Cent.,one
hour). It is very important for us to understand, are there any
effective industrial applications for such coatings. We are
interested in different testings of this coatings and we are ready to
send a samples of coatings to firms or persons who have interest to
this deposits. I would be so grateful for any advice.

You could always prepare a sample of, perhaps, a hardened steel
drill bit, with your coating, and just send them to companies who
sell specialty coatings, along with a brochure containing information
about the coating.

Sir,
A lot of platers would be interested in learning more about this
product as it is unusual. Most chrome softens considerably when
exposed to 400C and I have never heard of a 1500 Hv chrome or other
plated product.
Have you published any articles that are available in the USA. If
not, Metal finishing or AESF's surface finishing would certainly
publish an article for you.
I for one, would be interested in its wear properties compared to
regular chrome and/or electroless nickel. Unfortunately, I do not
have test facilities.
