There is a product known as, "Dulltone," which meets GM 6111 specification. To the best of my knowledge it is a basecoat for a dip and spin application designed for small parts. Typical parts done with this would be bolts, nuts, springs, clamps, etc. It can be applied by itself, or with a topcoat of anodic or cathodic lacquer coating. It is purported to be able to eliminate zinc or zinc alloy plating while giving equivalent corrosion protection. Pretreatment for this Dulltone would be either shotblasting or zinc phosphate type coating. Hope this helps, we have been looking at one system like this to manufacture, and market. If I can be of any help let me know.

Maybe I can shed some light on this issue. I am not familiar with Dalton but Deltatone is the European trade name for Magni's zinc rich coating. The proper terminology in Europe is Deltatone and Dorrltone in North America.

I have a customer asking about a finish called DELTA-TONE. I have some very basic information. Other names that I have seen are DELTA-FLEX, and DELTASEAL.
