I'm having difficulty finding European sources to black nickel plate on stainless steel. Would like some suggestions please.

You cannot plate black nickel directly on stainless steel. First you need a strike nickel, then a bright nickel and only on the top of it you can plate black nickel.

We plate stainless steel sheets in black, but the plating process involves titanium nitride sputtering. Plating can be done on type 304 (18% chrome and 8% nickel) or 316.
