"WORLD CLASS" PLATING CRITERIA

WE ARE IMPLEMENTING SOME PROCESS IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS IN OUR PLATING DEPARTMENT TO REDUCE/ELIMINATE PLATING DEFECTS. WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE ARE SOME INDUSTRY STATISTICS OR STANDARDS THAT WOULD DEFINE A "WORLD CLASS" PLATING OPERATION OR SOME BENCHMARKING RESOURCES.

I've never heard of the qualifying factors for a "world-class" plating operation, Charles. I feel that while the sentiment is good, the phrase itself is devoid of meaning or content. In its favor though is that the phrase doesn't turn my stomach like "best of breed" does :-)

As a starting point though, if it's not a "Plating Shops for the Nineties and Beyond", it's certainly not "world class". And if the parts are fingerprinted, stained, or discolored, it's not world class either. The parts have to be perfect.
