Frit melted into Glass is opaque not
transparent
Letter 10048
I bought some frit powder and remelted it in a ceramic mold at
about 900 Celsius in a Lindberg tube furnace. My question is, why is
it opaque and not transparent? Where can I purchase frit with known
properties (mean particle size, melting point) and no organic
additives?

For glass or ceramic, look in a lab equipment supply catalog. If
you need bigger, contact the manufacturer.
There are lots of metal frits, even stainless steel. Look under
sintered metals.
