Stripping of Electroless Nickel from Neodymium

--

We have been asked to strip and replate some electromagnets manufactured from Neodymium (NdFe). These magnets were electroless nickel plated by another firm and are now peeling. Our concern is whether or not this material (NdFe) might be damaged during the stripping process. What stripping solution might be employed?

I have stripped rare earth magnets in a two part electroless Ni strip , without any ill effects. Just make sure it's in a non-magnetic tank . The strip was at 60 c and is immersion type from a local supply house (possibly Udylite on your side ) .
