Effect of sulfuric acid and nitric acid on stainless steel
I am a University student doing experiment to determine the effect of sulfuric acid and nitric acid 3:1 ratio on SS316 stainless steel powder. This wet oxidation process is used to create functional group on carbon allotropes. Will it create the same effect on stainless steel?

Christopher,
I would expect a iron/chromium/nickel alloy such as 316SS to behave differently from carbon upon exposure to acid, yes. But then, why not just run the experiment and tell us what happens?
