Type B finish on Stainless Steel Type 304
Contractor is installing new Stainless Steel type 304 18 gauge ductwork in a lab. The plan is to prime one coat and paint two coats to match an existing white. I have the correct specs for the paint for stainless steel.
My question is what is Type B finish?
Is Type B the correct finish to paint ductwork?
Thanks,

Hi, David. "Type B" means a hundred different things depending on context. I personally haven't ever heard of it in regards to a finish for painted stainless steel, although it's widely used for painted concrete. So if you don't know what it means, who is spec'ing it and why?
